SurgSteel
SurgSteel was founded by two NHS doctors who saw firsthand the environmental challenges facing modern healthcare. Driven by a commitment to both patient care and planetary health we set out to create sustainable solutions for surgical and medical steel.
We provide recycled stainless steel that meets the highest standards of quality and safety while helping healthcare organisations reduce their carbon footprint. By combining clinical insight with expertise in procurement sustainability and data driven transparency we support the NHS and beyond in achieving their net zero goals.

At Surg Steel we believe that surgical innovation must go hand in hand with sustainability. The NHS has committed to becoming the world’s first health system to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2040 with an ambition to cut emissions from suppliers and services by 2045.
Steel is the backbone of modern healthcare from surgical instruments to critical medical equipment yet its production remains one of the most carbon intensive industrial processes. Our mission is to transform the supply of surgical steel by prioritising recycled and responsibly sourced stainless steel while reducing the environmental footprint of essential medical devices without compromising quality or safety.
